Maybe I'm just cynical after some of the stunts I've seen pulled on dA recently or maybe I'm distracted by the fact that this monetarally doesn't make sense but this situation doesn't sit well with me. Her story doesn't add up.

She says that her family is broke because they had to pay her mother's medical bills but Sweden has government funded health care. Her family wouldn't have to pay unless the procedures were dental or plastic surgery.

She has an older journal that mentions money problems too but it goes on to say that they are renovating their bathroom and debating buying a car. A car might be necessary for a job but renovating a bathroom isn't something you do unless you've got disposable income.

Also, there have been a few comments about how the commissions are helping out already but, so far, she's only done one $7 commission. Every little but helps but $7 couldn't put a dent in life threatening poverty. It's less than one hour's work at minimum wage.

It's fine if you want to keep advertising for her. You're sweet to care. But I wanted to point out these inconsistencies so you'd at least be aware of them. I would be very surprised if she's as bad off as she says she is.

I get what you're saying, and it makes sense. But being the kind of person who doesn't think to hard into things, I would probably post this either way. :I

And have I ever told you how amazing your comments like these are? You are excellent at proving a point and/or debating with evidence. They always give a new non-sugared-up view. Makes me think twice. I really appreciate it. C:
